Charles Alfred “Chief” Anderson A.K.A. the Father of Black Aviation. He was the Chief Flight Instructor for the Tuskegee Airmen, hence his nickname Chief. In 1940, Anderson was recruited by Tuskegee University for the black pilot program. Here had his fateful run-in with the current First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt in March 1941.
